sights; come join us on this magnificent pilgrimage. Early
civilization and ancient Christianity come alive as you visit
the Pyramids, explore ancient monasteries, and see the mountain
where Moses received the Ten Commandments. Spend time in the
heart of the wilderness where Moses led the Israelites after the
Exodus, as well as at the most popular Red Sea resort on the
Sinai Peninsula. |
Day 1 (Sun.) Board your
overnight transatlantic flight.
Day 2 Arrival in Cairo, Egypt.
(Mon.) Transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day is at leisure. Enjoy
this evening's WELCOME DINNER with your traveling companions. (D)
Day 3 Cairo. (Tue.) Meet
your Egyptologist for a spectacular day of sightseeing including the
EGYPTIAN MUSEUM, MEMPHIS with the statues of Ramses II and the Alabaster
Sphinx, SAKKARA'S 'Stairway to the Sky' (the oldest of the pyramids).

Day 4 Cairo. (Wed.) Visit
Old Cairo and sightsee the "HANGING CHURCH" (EL-MUALLAQA) and ST.
SERGIUS CHURCH, said to stand above a crypt which sheltered the Holy
Family during their flight from Egypt. Afterwards visit the COPTIC
MUSEUM. Then visit ST. MERURIUS CHURCH (Abu Seifein) with its
extraordinary collection of icons and Coptic art. (BB,D)
Day 5 Cairo. Excursion to Gazi and
Wadi Natroun. (Thu.) This morning visit GIZA'S SPHINX and the
Great Pyramids. Afterwards, journey to Wadi El Natroun and visit several
of the four ancient MONASTERIES. It is here that Christian monasticism
began in its most primitive form with anchorites inhabiting caves around
the valley. (BB)
Day 6 Cairo-Sharm el Sheikh.
(Fri.) Fly from Cairo to Sharm el Sheikh, the most popular Red Sea
resort on the Sinai Peninsula. Balance of the day at leisure to lounge
by the pool, snorkel, or simply relax. (BB)
Day 7 Sharm el Sheikh. Excursion
to St. Catherine. (Sat.) Enjoy a full-day excursion to ST.
CATHERINE'S MONASTERY, situated at the foot of Mt. Sinai-'or Mount Moses
(Biblical Mount Horeb), where Moses received the Ten Commandments. One
of the jewels of Western Civilization, St. Catherine's Monastery is home
to some of the world's richest collections of icons and ancient
manuscripts, and it is built on the reputed site of the "Burning Bush."

Day 8 Sharm el Sheikh-Cairo.
(Sun.) Morning flight from Sharm el Sheikh back to Cairo. Afternoon at
leisure. Enjoy this evening's FAREWELL DINNER. (BB,D)
